What this is
Valar Watch is an independent fact-check of Valar Atomics' work in Carbon and Emery counties, Utah. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Valar Atomics or any government agency. The front page quotes a few of Valar's own short marketing lines for commentary; no Valar logo, image or design is used.
How it is made
- Public records only. Every fact names the document it was read from: agency filings, meeting packets and transcripts, court and land records, the company's own publications, and news reports.
- Checked before it appears here. A fact is published only after a second, skeptical pass has opened its sources and confirmed it. Claims that hold up are credited in the Claims vs Record ledger.
- Labels. record = shown by a document; company claim = what Valar says; official statement = what an official or agency says; analysis = a reasoned reading of the records, shown as such. confirmed = a primary record or two independent reports; reported = one credible report.
- People appear only in their public roles and public acts.
- Sources are archived. A timestamped copy of each cited source is kept, so a claim keeps its proof if a page changes. Third-party articles are linked, not republished.
- Research tools. Research and writing were done with Claude (Anthropic) working from the records, directed by a resident of the area.
