TechCrunch (Mike Butcher, February 20, 2025) reported Valar had raised a $19 million seed round led by Riot Ventures, with AlleyCorp, Initialized Capital, Day One Ventures and Steel Atlas, to develop its first test reactor. It reported an initial contract with the Philippine Nuclear Research Institute to build a reactor in that country, and quoted the company saying its thermal test unit took about 10 months to design and build.
